Every October, one question dominates Hollywood: What will Heidi Klum be this year?

For over two decades, the supermodel and TV star has turned Halloween into a high-fashion fright fest, hosting her legendary costume party that’s equal parts art, theater, and a viral sensation. Klum’s Halloween parties have become legendary since 2000, when she first started what would become an annual tradition. 

In the beginning, she was her own stylist, doing her own hair and makeup. As time passed, Klum’s costumes became not just costumes, but full narratives done by professionals: creatures, characters, identities. From a full-body worm in 2022 to a human peacock in 2023, Klum has redefined what it means to “dress up.” 

“I always try to find things that people naturally wouldn’t do,” she told People magazine. “My goal is to not let any of my Halloween fans down.” And she never does. 

Klum confirmed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that her 2025 costume was already in the works, teasing that it will be “extra ugly and super scary.” She also mentioned that it would involve advanced prosthetics and lots of work. While she didn’t reveal the full costume, she did mention that she’d met amazing people over the years who helped her with special effects makeup for her costumes. 

“I have a lot of creative people around the world that are fans, that are artists, makeup artists, hairdressers, designers, or people who maybe are not even in the field, and they love the creativity of Halloween,” Klum said. 

This year, fans have gone full detective mode. In early October, Klum posted a mysterious 3D head mold on Instagram with the caption, “This is just the beginning,” tagging her go-to prosthetics artist, Mike Marino. That clue has sparked wild fan theories, from horror-movie monsters to mythological beasts to “body horror” transformations that may warp her face. 

“There goes a lot into it because I wanted to be so spectacular that this is not something I can just throw together overnight. It takes a long time. It takes a lot of planning,” expressed Klum.

Klum has built a following that isn’t just celebrity watchers. They are prosthetic artists, costume designers, horror buffs, Instagram fans, and much more. People study her reveals and share theories. Her costumes become daily conversations and major media moments. 

Whatever she becomes this year, it’s safe to say Heidi Klum will once again prove why she reigns as the undisputed Queen of Halloween, and why her costume reveal remains one of the most anticipated moments of the spooky season.
