The 2026 NFL playoffs ended the way few predicted back in September, with the Seattle Seahawks standing alone.
Seattle defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, closing a postseason lead by unstoppable defense, and clutch performances by Sam Darnold at the quarterback position.

New England finally answered behind rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns. However, his two interceptions, including a critical fourth-quarter pick returned for a touchdown, halted any momentum the Patriots attempted to build.
The defining moment came midway through the fourth quarter. Maye’s pass was intercepted near midfield and returned for a defensive touchdown, pushing Seattle’s lead to 28-7 and effectively ending the contest. While the Patriots added a late score, the Seahawks’ defense closed the game with consistent pressure.
Throughout the playoffs, Seattle’s formula remained consistent: limit turnovers, establish the run and capitalize on defensive opportunities. That identity carried them through earlier postseason rounds and into the championship.
