Newly revamped Block 59

Over the past few months a new shopping mall has been in the process of building in downtown Naperville. Block 59 is home to many new dining options like Stan’s donuts, Shake Shack, and Piccolo Buco. This 91,000 square foot project has been in works since 2024 and will be finished by the spring of 2026. 

Some of the restaurants that have had a grand opening over the summer include Stan’s Donuts, Cheesecake Factory, and Shake Shack. Stan’s donuts had celebrated their grand opening on August 9th, 2025 with over 200 customers arriving at 6 p.m. to claim prices. Some of the prices given to the first 100 customers include Stan’s donuts apparel, a lifetime of free donuts card, and a light pink Kitchen Aid mixer. 

While the grand opening for Stan’s donuts was very successful there are still many restaurants that are coming to Block 59. By the end of this year Cava, Ruth’s Chris steakhouse, Velvet Taco, and Yard House are supposed to join the Block 59 establishment. 

“Coming soon to the district  is popular Mediterranean fast-casual spot CAVA. The Block 59 location will be CAVA’s fourth in Illinois, with others in Chicago, Bolingbrook, Vernon Hills and River Forest. Other restaurants slated for the center are Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and FreshFin” Francie Swidler said.
